Tutorial Four: Video Production Sessions

Gidday mate!

Today we were set the task of working in a small group to plan and produce an approximately 30 second short film. My group made a short film on the topic of ‘overcoming adversity’, where ours was about overcoming the adversity of what to do when you are lining up in a line and people push in front of you. We portrayed this by a group of girls lining up to use the microwave to heat food when abruptly a rude girl pushes and shoves herself in front of the line, using the microwave before the other girls. The challenge is soon to be overcome when the girls in the line fight and argue back, demanding for an explanation.

-Planning this short film using story boarding and scripting aided our groups overall outcome as every shot and details which were to be in the film were planned accordingly, which provided the group with the understanding of what was expected from them as ‘actors’, what message/theme we wanted to portrayand what the overall outcome was to be.
